Not so good cruise by Jay from Doha, Qatar
Sailing date: Apr 2006

Pros:
The schedule and stops

Cons:
Food and general attitude of the ship personnel

The overall impression of the ship was that it was an average ship. If you compare it to the newer ship (Magica), it is apples and oranges differences. There were areas of the ship that had an odor, but overall it is OK.

Dining/Food
Food was not nearly as good as other cruise ships. Very blant, meat tough. The buffet was OK, but they only had the dinner buffet twice, the rest of the nights you were forced to eat in the dining room. In the dining room, the waiters were OK. Obviously, they were very busy and didn't have to the time to be personal with us. Also, at dinner, they charge for water. You are not given the option of just getting tap water, you are forced to pay for bottled water. Now I'm not cheap, but there is something against my principles to make be pay for water at dinner. On deck during many hours, tea, coffee or just plain water was not available at all. Once my wife had to order tea from the waiter on the swimming pool deck because it wasn't available. Guess what, we had to pay for hot water.........go figure that one out.

Stateroom Quality
Overall we had a quad cabin and it was sufficient. The cabin steward was excellent and room was always clean.

Ship Staff Quality
Friendliness was not their middle name. Most of the staff were just puppets in an attempt by management to milk all the money they could from the passengers. Nothing and I mean nothing other than food was free on the ship.

Entertainment & Activities
Average shows, nothing great but nothing really bad either.
